DOGE is taking over human resources at the U.S. Department of Labor, Bloomberg reports. Last month, the DOGE team threatened DOL employees against talking about what is happening inside of the agency.
Veteran labor reporter Steven Greenhouse has an analysis of Trump’s “big, beautiful” budget – which just passed the U.S. House of Representatives, and would be a massive transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich. “It’s a perversion of the truth for Trump to boast of his pro-worker bona fides when he steadfastly refuses to push for the two things that would do most to lift workers’ living standards: push to raise workers’ pay and push to strengthen labor unions and worker bargaining power,” Greenhouse writes.
Disney World has put workers on unpaid leave after the Supreme Court approved President Trump’s cancellation of Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelans. Unions representing Disney workers are urging the employer to protect its staff against the attack on immigrant rights.
