David Huerta is free (but is being charged with a felony). SMART member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, farmworker leader Alfredo “Lelo” Juarez, former UAW member Mahmoud Khalil, and IAM member Maximo Londonio are still locked up. Now is the time to free them all. The labor movement showed up big time to win Huerta’s release—now the question is how we step it up, and in particular work to educate members who voted for Trump on the dangers behind Trump’s authoritarian turn.
