Nearly 12 million Americans would lose their health care under the Senate Republicans’ budget bill, the Congressional Budget Office estimates. The bill includes the biggest cuts to the social safety net since the 1990s.

Sixteen states are considering measures to protect workers from extreme heat, but only a handful have protections on the books.
