The Supreme Court has granted President Donald Trump’s request for a stay on a court order requiring him to reinstate Gwynne Wilcox to the NLRB. That means that Wilcox will remain off the NLRB – and the board remains without a quorum – while the case proceeds. Legal commentators are remarking that the decision granting the stay suggests the Supreme Court may ultimately rule against Wilcox and expand the president’s power to fire members of independent agencies.
